Foreword |
FOREWORD For some time now, many persons encouraged me to write a book about various unusual events of my life, including my three Near Death Experiences (NDE's). I wasn't really convinced of the usefulness of such a work, nor of its interest. Knowing well the notions of coincidences and synchronicities, I should have suspected it was not the right moment to consider such a project. This will be clearly confirmed to me in March 2008 when my life's trajectory will encounter a totally unexpected blessing. CHAPTER 1: Healings - The moment of truth The results are magnificently surprising. I feel truly blessed by such a complete reversal of fortune. To the bewilderment of my cardiologist and my family doctor, I have no more heart disease and my heart is quite normal for a man of my age. This was totally inconceivable, inexplicable, and even impossible according to medical authorities. Too bad I didn’t already know back in 1990 the principles which are so familiar to me today. Maybe, I would have been able to avoid the physiological and psychological traumas of an aggressive cardiac surgery. CHAPTER 2: Psychobiology and Total Biology The word and the weight of words can affect our emotions either in a positive way or in a negative way. In this last case, these are known as "pathological" words while in the first case, these are called "healing" words. When a child hears one of his parents say: "You're stupid and will never achieve anything good in your life", then these are clearly "pathological" words. Among the emotions possibly triggered will be one of a profound devaluation because the "weight" of these words, spoken by their mother or their father, will certainly be more enormous compared with the same words coming from the mouth of a sibling, a school friend, a neighbor or a stranger. These "pathological" words could be the source of certain diseases, illnesses and dysfunctions. CHAPTER 3: Project and purpose and the decoding of my diseases Many of us believe that we consciously choose our profession or our career, or that it was a fortunate event due to fortuitous circumstances. Furthermore, some constantly aim at achieving high levels of performance and notoriety thinking they are blessed by some talents. In most of these cases though, it is strictly an illusion as you will see in this first personal example of "project and purpose". Repeatedly, I also noticed this same phenomenon concerning other individuals, usually to their great bewilderment, either during therapy or following their requests and sometimes challenges. Even the most skeptics could not deny their "project and purpose" or other programming event which unconsciously affected their "choice". CHAPTER 4: Obstacles to our healing and well-being In a sense, our need to be esteemed is the fuel of the ego. The attention of others is essential because if a person does not pay attention to me , I will have the impression that I am not important for them. Under the influence of the ego, I could even quarrel with them so that once they are angered, I will finally have their full attention. As for our material possessions, they give us a false sense of value to the eyes of others and generate their covetousness. On the other hand, they don't contribute to our enduring happiness for as soon as we acquire the thing we wished for, we desire yet another thing in order to be happy. I will be finally happy when... but it is only a delusion. The ego is a kind of slavery because we are totally dependent on the attention of others. I believe that the worst burden we can bear in the course of our life is to feel resentment towards somebody. To hold a tremendous grudge against that person for an event that we consider to be an insult or an injustice and for which they must bear full responsibility. As a judge, we declared them guilty and as an executioner we condemned them to undergo the worst tortures according to our level of resentment. Our beliefs can be either limiting or empowering. Limiting beliefs interfere with our potentialities, our progress and our opening up to the outside world. They can be demeaning and cause or aggravate, among others, our illnesses, our dysfunctions and our diseases. As for empowering beliefs, they encourage us to have confidence in ourselves, to be a full actor in our life and to realize our possibilities in cooperation with the outside world. They are fulfilling, increase our self-esteem and contribute largely to our good health, our prosperity and our happiness. In short, our beliefs have an enormous influence on our lives. Our life could be either happy and fulfilling or unhappy and lacking… But what is more pernicious, as confirmed by Doctor Selye's research, is the fact that our immune system can only fight one thing at a time. Whether it is a wound, a fracture or a disease, such as cancer, our immune system will quickly organize a thousand and one activities in order to repair damages or combat invaders. On the other hand, when a new stress is introduced during these activities, such as fear or anxiety, this can unfavorably affect the results. In the case of a fracture, it may not be repaired adequately. For a disease, it could slow down or even prevent healing and therefore cause the disease to become chronic. Furthermore, if our immune system is generally mobilized by psychological stresses, our resistance to additional physical stresses from infectious diseases (pneumonia, flu, etc.) will be largely reduced. CHAPTER 5: My 3 Near Death Experiences (NDE’s) Suddenly, here I am once again floating at ceiling level and observing my body with its chest wide open. What a great relief! Although the body is under anesthesia, as in a very profound sleep, the intense and traumatizing pains seem to be nevertheless recorded. Finally freed from these pains, I am in a state of ecstasy with an overpowering feeling of unconditional and unlimited love. It is a world of peace and eternal well-being without any pain or fear. It is very hard to explain such a sublime condition by using simple words. Time and space do not exist. It's like finally returning home to our "true reality" following this earthly stay. No fear, no sadness, no sorrow of leaving our dear ones behind because they are eternally with us and us with them. I am ready! The now familiar tunnel opens up behind me as it did during the two previous episodes. CHAPTER 6: Death, beyond and our reincarnation I consider myself as being a relatively skeptic person, but also an open one. Besides my personal experiences, these concepts are supported by researches and resulting writings not from mystic individuals but from well respected persons within the scientific domain. World renowned doctors who dared to communicate their research results in scientific medical papers at the great risk of not being believed by their peers. Among these, such pioneers as doctors Raymond Moody, Elizabeth Kübler-Ross, Brian L. Weiss, Michael Newton, Bruce Goldberg, Sam Parnia and Deepak Chopra… As human beings, we have full consciousness of our own eventual death. As we age, the more we think about our relatively imminent and unavoidable final demise. As already said, although these anxious thoughts are quite normal, some people can become quite obsessed by the fear of dying to a degree that they are no longer "living" really… What happens when we die? Some people think that it is our total annihilation. We are born, we live, we die and that is everything. Essentially, rational thought is the foundation of such a conclusion. Usually, these same individuals also reject the existence of any spiritual, supernatural or transcendental reality as well as their phenomena such as those associated with agony and dying. Those of you who kept a vigil or accompanied a dying person during the last days of their life might have noticed unusual and inexplicable phenomena. As witnesses of such experiences, some people will prefer to keep silent for fear of being ridiculed. While others will find a logical explanation such a medicinal hallucination or their own fatigue or stress… But why don't we have any recollection of our previous lives? This is not entirely true as we briefly access such memories during certain dreams or in periods of deep meditation. Furthermore, babies and young children up to the age of approximately five or six would be aware of such past lives as well as of the presence of their spiritual guides. These are their "invisible friends". As parents and adults, we unfortunately tend not to believe them. We even tell them to stop such nonsense being afraid that our family or acquaintances might question their psychological health. From our birth and during our early childhood, our guides comfort us and reassure us during our feelings of isolation and solitude whatever the level of love and nurturing given by the family. CHAPTER 7: Spirituality Spirituality can be defined as being an evolutionary process of spirit transformation which aims at cultivating altruistic love and shedding our egocentricity. This goal will favorably influence our own happiness and well-being as well as those of others. By developing our human qualities, we have access to a more satisfying and fulfilling life, thus allowing our contribution to the quality of life of others. As a result, we will be happier and be more well-intentioned towards others. It is our own representation of the world that creates our "reality" of it. By transforming ourselves, we shall have another perception of the world … When we learn to live spiritually, under the influence of the soul rather than the ego, we notice several changes. We discover the meshing of coincidences and the other mystic phenomena surrounding us. Furthermore, we realize that there is a meaning for each event in our life, be it big or small. Finally, we connect to all living beings and all things in the Universe, and recognize the spiritual life that unites us. While the ego makes us believe that we are separate from other human and living beings, the reality is that we are all interconnected. I would like to share with you two surprising anecdotes on this subject which took place in April 2009 while my wife and I attended a seminar in Toronto (Canada). CHAPTER 8: The power of intention and attraction Each of us has an unsuspected internal force and wisdom. With our full collaboration, this latent power can manifest itself in unexpected and inexplicable manners, even sometimes in a miraculous way. The healing of my heart diseases is but an example among so many others. This spiritual power has the capacity to bring us, among other things, love, abundance, happiness, peace, serenity as well as harmonious relations with our family, our acquaintances as well as all living beings on Earth. Unfortunately, very few people realize that they become what they think constantly, day after day. Our body is of the physical domain because it is solid and thus can be noticed by our senses. Besides our physical body, we also have seven subtle bodies including the most commonly known etheric body. These subtle bodies are of the quantum domain because they are of pure energy. At any time, our energy field contacts and influences the energy field of each other person present in the same room and vice versa. Therefore, each of us will react in some way or another to this interactive experience. How many times have we already felt the atmosphere as being tense or sad, or else peaceful and serene? Our thoughts are also of the quantum domain. Every thought is therefore a vibratory and informative energy. The content of our thoughts can be captured by other living beings: human, animals and plant. Scientific experiments on this subject confirmed many a time this surprising phenomenon. Didn't we ever notice that when we are nice, people are kind to us and look for our company? But when we are gloomy or negative, people avoid us or are unpleasant. I clearly understand now that my questioning and thoughts at the very beginning of this 21st century, when I hit rock bottom, allowed me to access my spiritual identity and embark on the road to a better health and a greater well-being. Unconsciously at that moment, this introspection activated my power of intention and attraction thus generating coincidences, synchronicities and other unusual phenomena allowing me to get closer and closer to my goal. It will give me great pleasure to share with you some of these phenomena later on in this book. Some might seem quite incredible, mystic or occult to the reader. I too was very skeptical, that is until I personally experienced it… The more we pay attention to coincidences, the more frequently they will appear to us, and the more messages and paths we shall benefit of in order to follow our life's trajectory. Magically, the right persons will appear, a stranger will give us the information we've been looking for since several months, we'll receive a phone call from a headhunter to offer us a job, or we'll read an inspiring book which will change our life… Nature is full of synchronicities which are so common that they seem trivial. The flight of migratory birds and the schools of fish are among the most spectacular and intriguing. With a perfect coordination, they instantly change direction and there is never a collision. It's as if there was a central and unique brain organizing the whole. In reality, the instantly precise communication received and executed by each fish or bird is of a spiritual nature and thus belongs to the quantum domain consisting of vibratory energy and information. We human beings also have this intuitive capacity but we unconsciously sacrificed it for the benefit of the ego… Along with the different approaches and interventions of modern scientific medicine, we can access our internal healing power, that of our Being. Since our birth, we have benefited from hundreds of healings where this curative power intervened to repair various sprains, cuts, burns and bruises. These miracles occurred unconsciously, effortlessly and without our understanding of the mechanisms which were at work. CHAPTER 9: Healing journal In this last chapter, I submit a chronology of events, each representing in my opinion an important if not essential element leading to my healings. You'll notice that circumstances of our daily life often invite us to follow the best direction, not necessarily the easiest. We are then free to follow our internal voice or not… Twice already, in 1990 and in 2000, I allowed the ego to influence my choices which proved to be detrimental not only to my health and my well-being but also to those of my immediate family. What will happen this time?… Thanks to this remarkable synchronicity, it was quite evident to me that I had to provoke great changes in my life and especially not be dominated again by the ego. After discussion with my wife, we agreed that I would retire in spring 2007. It was a difficult decision because it would cause an important reduction in my yearly income because I would only be 55 years old. The ego intervened constantly throughout our talks: power, fame, benefits, lack, image, "sacrifices", others' opinions, security, social contacts, etc. Nevertheless, I was convinced that a change of course was urgently needed. I will inform my employer next Monday upon returning from our vacation. EPILOGUE While doing the rereading of this work, I realized that my first signs of depression appeared just following our return from this trip and that they became more pronounced during the next months until its paroxysm at the very beginning of the next year when I received my diagnosis. Was it yet another precursory signal inviting me to change my life's trajectory?… Finally, I would like to share with you my most recent realization concerning the crucial crossroads of our life's journey, subject which was discussed in Chapter 6. According to certain theories and disciplines, we would each have different cycles when similar events or circumstances occur at regular intervals. Would this also be true in regards to our life's main crossroads? |
