Jean-Jacques Fournel had a successful 35 year career in loss prevention as a manager and consultant for a major international property insurer. Over a 15 year period, he was also a continuing education lecturer including at the Ecole Polytechnique (University of Montreal). Finally, he is the author and editor of acclaimed technical books in his domain.

In 2007, he took an early retirement to devote his time to the writing of his two latest technical works (published in 2008 and 2009) but especially to the improvement of his health condition as the symptoms of his heart diseases, diagnosed when he was a young child, were becoming more threatening.

Through his company PREVTEK, he is now a consultant, instructor and lecturer in the fire and loss prevention field as well as the publisher of his technical books.

At the age of only 7, Jean-Jacques had his first Near Death Experience (NDE). Two other NDEs occurred in his late 30's, the last one in October 1990 while undergoing a complex open-heart surgery. These three mystic experiences has forever changed his vision of life and death.

Following this third NDE, he began an extensive study of various topics including spirituality, holism, quantum physics and metaphysics.

In 1992, he and his wife passionately discovered genealogy and dedicated most of their spare time afterwards in the search for their ancestors and their history. In 1994, they founded the La Jemmerais Genealogical Society and taught the basics of genealogical research to more than a hundred people.

In 2002, he embarked on a learning program in psychobiology with leading experts in this field, namely French doctors Claude Sabbah and Gérard Athias.

On March 27th 2008, he met his cardiologist of over twenty years to learn the outcome of the latest thorough cardiac exams. The cardiologist was totally flabbergasted by the results. Mysteriously, his heart was suddenly normal and had no more diseases. Totally incredible and medically inexplicable!

The following month, he began writing the original French version of his first personal and non-technical book "Mon coeur guéri et mon âme retrouvée" in which he offers his interpretation of the specific events that may have led to his healings and a major change of his life trajectory. This book was published in December 2009. As to this English version titled "My Heart Healed, My Soul Revealed", it was published in July 2011. Undoubtly, this work represents an important additional tool towards our understanding of disorders, ailments and illnesses and the exploring of potential healing approaches in our quest for a better health and an improved well-being.
